Keepin it real
So umm... ya... I started this blog to keep everyone who cares informed about my adventures in Oregon as I pursue my Olympic dreams. This is going to be a short post because I should really be writing a paper right now instead of working on this :P. But because I know you all love to read about me, I will post my recent updates from my AIM profile. Catch y'all later... time to write that paper.
Adam Update (Week of 9/17): I am exhausted... I really need to stop doing these "I only can take an hour nap somewhere in the next two and half days" things. But between working overnight, and having to train during the day, I really don't get much time for sleep. Add the fact that I HAVE to write a paper a day for teacher certification and, well you get the point. But if life was going to throw this type of load on anybody, I'm one of the few that can pull it off. And most of the time I am laughing in life's face saying "bring it on biaatch!" But I am crazy like that, and wow do I love a challange. Anyway, this week was my first real week of lessons with Coach Marx, and I feel like I am a freshman who walked into a Phd class. But already I can see improvement, and I absolutely love working out with the guys at the club. The club itself has become my home, and I can't imagine any other place I would rather be. It is a really big honor for me to be a part of this club as it continues to climb its way into the being THE fencing club in the US. I took my Praxis IIs on the 16th. I feel confident on one, but I am gonna be sweating a little when its time to get the score for the second... stupid introductory physics that I haven't done in 5 years. Other than that, I am still waiting on hearing back from better jobs than Target, and thats getting a little frustrating. I also basically called everyone I have listed on my cell phone after the Michigan Vs. Notre Dame game as I was literally bouncing off the walls... the people at the club though I was crazy. Thats all for now... thanks to everyone who has been emailing me, or facebooking me. I have a wall now, so help me fill it up! Catch y'all later...
Adam Update (Week of 9/10): Working my butt off in Oregon. My fencing training is kicking into high gear. I am taking lessons three days a week and have practice four days a week. I am probably going to start going in on Saturdays too... mmmm fencing six days a week. Yummy Other that that, I work over nights, and I work on homework on my never ending quest to be a teacher. I was just hired to be a Mad Scientist, which means that I am going to get to start doing after school science demonstrations for elemntary school students. On rare occasions I actually have fun. I go to the bar with the fencing crowd, well those over 21, on thursday nights. The waitress knows us by name, and hers is Debbie. Can't beat a 1.95 burger and a 2.50 beer. I went to Seattle last week, and that was awesome... haven't had that much fun since I moved from A2. Looking forward to going back the weekend of the 23rd for the biggest fencing tournament of the season in the Northwest and hopefully more chilling. Well thats life... I'll catch y'all on the flip side.
By the way, no one around here understands what college football is all about.
Peace.
